Volunteer with Us
Docents are volunteers who interpret life on the 18th-century coastal plantation through an orientation film, timeline, and artifacts on display in the kitchen, spinning room, and children’s room in the main house as well as in the original milk house and garden.
Docents have created a variety of interpretive activities for children for use inside the House and outdoor 18th-century games.
From mid-May through late October, Docents open Rackliffe House for tours every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays mid-June through September.
Rackliffe House is currently recruiting volunteers to serve as Docents to lead guided tours of the house and grounds, to perform garden maintenance on the colonial kitchen garden, and to assist with media outreach.
