Rackliffe House

Volunteer with Us

Docents interpret life on the 18th-century coastal plantation through an orientation film, timeline, and artifacts on display in the kitchen, spinning room, and children’s room in the main house as well as in the original milk house and garden.

The docents at Rackliffe House have created a variety of interpretive activities for children for use inside the House and outdoor 18th-century games (Due to Covid-19 activities and games will not be available during the 2021 season).

From June through October, docents open Rackliffe House for tours every Thursday from 11 a.m.. to 2 p.m. NOTE: Additional tour days will be added as state mandates for Covid-19 change throughout the 2021 season.

Rackliffe House is currently recruiting volunteers to serve as Docents to lead guided tours of the house and grounds, to perform garden maintenance on the colonial kitchen garden, and to assist with media outreach.
